How to Improve Young Children’s Writing Skills
Have you ever thought of turning your children into professional authors? It can be done easily if you start training them at their young age. To be frank, there are many great ways which the parents can make use of to encourage the development of writing skills among their beloved kids. The training should be done together with storytelling and reading.
Dear parents, in order to help the young kids to develop their writing skills, you are reminded to take a positive approach. You need to bear in mind that writing skills can be introduced when the children are at the age of six.
Honestly speaking, the learning process is a long way to go. You need to be extra patient and you must make sure that you use the right strategies. Before the young children reach the age of six, you should start introducing other aspects to them, i.e. reading, speaking and listening. Let them familiar with the language.
Young kids are able to absorb new things easily through experiential learning. The parents are suggested to give plenty of opportunities to the kids to use paints and crayons. Let them enjoy drawing and writing “symbols”. Besides, you can encourage them to do some activities which involve hand-eye coordination, such as cutting, coloring, sticking, threading beads, etc. All these activities can actually help to lay the foundation for successful writing in the future.
When the kids start to recognize letters, you can proceed to another stage. Introduce some simple words for them. Choose those words that the kids always dictate. Write the words on a piece of paper and get the kids to pronounce the words correctly. Make sure that the letters on the paper are large enough. Let the kids write over your writing. Repeat the same technique daily. During the learning process, you are reminded to give a lot of praises to them so that they have more interests to learn further. Read more
